| St JAMES and PAYNES BAY |

|
The West Coast of Barbados is known as the “Platinum Coast”. It is world renowned for its stunning coves and white coral sand. Here the sea is calm and the sunsets spectacular. Located on the West Coast is the Parish of St James, which is home to the island’s most picturesque beaches. It is no coincidence that St James is also home to the most exclusive properties and clubs in Barbados. Holetown, established by the first English settlers and formerly known as Jamestown, is the main town in St James and is increasingly popular as the location of some of the island’s best restaurants. Just south of the world famous Sandy Lane Bay – home of Sandy Lane Hotel – is Paynes Bay, a sweep of clean coral sand and azure blue sea backed by lush tropical vegetation. This idyllic bay looks out over the Caribbean and basks in brilliant sunshine all year round. The clear waters make the bay ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving.
